About

Dr. Cleary is a dual board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board in Primary Care and as a Primary Care Mental Health Specialist, with over 27 years of professional nursing experience.

  • She specializes in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics, with expertise in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, learning differences, developmental delays, and NICU graduate follow-up care 

    Dr. Cleary earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern California School of Nursing and completed her Master of Science in Nursing as a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at the University of California, Los Angeles. She later obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chatham University and was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. 

    With extensive experience in general pediatrics and pediatric subspecialties, Dr. Cleary began her career as a Neonatal Intensive Care and Pediatric Public Health Nurse, caring for families and children with special healthcare needs. She has practiced in California, Washington, Hawaii, the District of Columbia, and Maryland. 

    As an advanced practice nurse, she worked in the Pediatric Neurology department at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and in Pediatric Hematology in the DC area. Dr. Cleary found her niche at Children’s National Medical Center, where she was a member of the Neurogenetics and Neurodevelopmental Behavioral team. She continued her work in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics at the University of Maryland and Parker Place in Annapolis, Maryland. She has trained and collaborated with leading experts in Neurology and Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics.

What to Expect

New patient evaluations typically require 2 to 4 visits, depending on your child’s individual needs. Each appointment lasts up to 45 minutes. 

During the first visit, we will: 

  • Get to know your family 

  • Observe your child 

  • Conduct a complete medical and developmental history 

  • Perform a medical exam 

We will also discuss follow-up plans for any subsequent visits. At the end of the evaluation process, you will receive detailed medical notes from each visit, along with any necessary referrals. 

Appointment Times
New patient evaluations are available by appointment between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM.

Follow-Up Visits

For established patients on stable medication, follow-up visits are required at least every three months.

For new medication management, more frequent visits may be required, which will be determined based on individual needs.

Introductory Fees*

New patient evaluations

A nonrefundable booking fee of $50.00 is required when scheduling your first appointment. This fee will be applied to your outstanding balance. 

  • Each visit costs $475.00 and is nonrefundable. Appointments typically last 45 to 60 minutes

  • Payment for the first two visits ($950.00 total) is due upon arrival at the initial appointment.

Insurance and Payments

Dr. Cleary is out-of-network with all insurance plans. 

A superbill can be provided upon request for families who wish to seek reimbursement.

Reimbursement policies vary by insurance provider, so we recommend checking with your insurance plan directly.
